I became an owner of OneTaste because the practice of OM, Nicole, and every single person here changed my life in the most profound way. Personally, it physically healed a chronic illness I lived with that doctors couldn’t help with.
To see this drama called Orgasm Inc: The Story of OneTaste, a distortion of what OneTaste was by a sensation-seeking filmmaker and her business partners purporting to “support women” is infuriating.
My heart goes out to all of you who were depicted in this “documentary” without your consent. Other than the handful of paid and self-promoting participants, it appears that very few people’s consent was sought. I am extremely disappointed that Netflix, Sarah Gibson, Erin Lee Carr and Lena Dunham produced a film on OneTaste that exploited so many women for profit. While the film is filled with misappropriated footage of actual events, the depiction of OneTaste is almost unrecognizable. So many beautiful experiences distorted and taken so terribly out of context.
Deep down I know I want love, connection and access to my own power…the very things that OneTaste represents for me. That this community that brought me in—rooted in the values of consent, trust, and privacy—could be depicted as the opposite by people with no regard for these values is beyond ironic.
I will say openly to anyone who has watched the film or cares about its contents: these allegations are not true. I believe the filmmakers know this as well and decided to proceed anyway. We sent them the evidence showing the falsity of their narrative and their depiction. We will continue to press for the truth.
We are doing everything in our power to correct false allegations and to get footage returned and out of the hands of those who have misappropriated and abused it. For months we have appealed to Sarah, Lena, Netflix, and to those who supplied footage that wasn’t theirs to sell or share. You may wish to reach out to them as well.
I am absolutely committed to continuing to give everyone, especially women, access to OM, Eros, and power.
