AG Pam Bondi doesn’t think the federal government should have to pay J6 defendants a settlement because she thinks the government has “sovereign immunity.”
Meaning the government can violate your rights, throw you in prison on fake allegations, drain your savings, ruin your reputation, and there’s nothing you can do about it.
Why Did We Bother With The Presidential Pardon?
At the heart of this isn’t just J6. It’s the bigger question: Should the government be above accountability to the people it governs?
The government is only above accountability to the people because most people don’t know that they are over their government. That being said, yes, this is way bigger that just J6. I bet grand juries would agree as well.
