Short List Wow: Donate to Cajun Navy and Samaritans Purse.
The United Cajun Navy has been providing crucial aid and relief efforts to communities in the Western North Carolina after Hurricane Helene. The groups of volunteers is helping with search and rescue operations, recovery assistance and supply distribution.
In additions to their on the ground efforts, the Cajun Navy is also seeking community support to help those impacted by Hurricane Helene. Here’s how you can get involved:
Transport Supplies: Only so many can be transported by air, so anyone with a tractor trailer, Uhaul, or larger truck that could help transport supplies from Hickory Regional Airport or Asheville to Black Mountain elementary school.
Donate Supplies: The Cajun Navy has created an Amazon donation list with the most needed items for storm victims.
Volunteer Locally: The Cajun Navy is made up entirely of volunteers. You can join recovery teams to assist with clean up and rebuilding efforts in affected communities.
Monetary Donations: Financial contributions are essential for fueling operations to reach those in hard to reach locations
